A Start for Christmas

Hello Everyone!!!  Whew this year has flown by.  Where has time gone?  I managed to fit in a few Christmas projects and hopefully I will find time to do a lot more over the next few weeks.  I feel so behind ATM.

I knew when I came across this Angel shaped grapevine wreath that I had to make an Angel Christmas Wreath.  I really wanted to do black and read plaid.  I love plaid christmas items.  This is what I came up with.

I have a cute story to tell.  My lovely blogging friend Mrs. Cobs made these adorable Acorns that you just have to see.  She has a fantastic blog.  Read about them here. (https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/65708825/posts/35752)  I told her the story because her lovely acorns made me think of the story.  She encouraged me to tell the story.  So here it is. I hope y’all enjoy it.

I was at work last month and a squirrel got into the store.    The poor thing was trapped in the store for 3 days.  We set friendly traps the first day to try to catch it, but no luck.  The 2nd day this squirrel was hiding in the bedding area.  It frightened a customer and associate half to death that was shopping down the aisle where it had decided to hide.  I am pretty sure it was as frightened as they were.  It ran underneath a display so we move these traps closer (because they worked so well the first time lol).  One of my co workers felt bad for it.  She was tossing peanuts underneath the display and the little thing was eating them.  We still couldn’t get it and after an hour and half of trying to coax it out lol we gave up.  On the 3rd day a very excited customer came running to say there is a squirrel in the gift bags.   LOL so the associates came to get me. So out I went into the gift bag section.  I decided today was the day.  One by one we starting removing these gift bags.  One or two were shredded lol. Suddenly we reached for a rather large gift back and felt hard movement.  The poor thing in his fright had jumped into this huge gift bag.  It thought if it was super still we wouldn’t fund him.  We reached for the bad and the bag lurched.  We carefully lifted it off the peg and carefully looked inside.  Yep SQUIRREL.  lol It chattered at us.  So off we went as quick as possible out the back door.  Sat the bad down and out it ran.  It ran up the huge tree.. Then quickly came back down it, stopped,  looked at us and gave us a talking to. SO either it was super happy it was free again or it was cursing us out for giving it a fright. LOL  Either was I was happy to get it back into its element.  I am pretty sure it was just as happy!.

I also visited King Tut this  month.  It was so interesting.  I had a great time and enjoyed ready about him.   I am going to share a few pics of my visit.  Amazing how much time and thought goes into these tombs.  Everything has meaning.  This is the last time they will be touring.  He will be making his way back to Egypt for his finally resting place.

Christmas Spirit

Hello Everyone!! I hope you are all having a fantabulous day!.  Today I have been working on some gift items and a few other surprises.  My schedule has been pretty demanding and its only going to get more demanding as the holidays approach.   I can handle it though! Last week the Sugar Plum festival was on at the Orange County Fair Grounds.  I took my mom.  We had a great time browsing through all kinds of fun handmade items.  I really love that every time I go I find hidden treasures.  This past week was no different.  While browsing each individual booth I found someone selling all these amazing Boyds  bears. Then My excitement grew when I found a Boyds farm wagon.  From then on I knew exactly what I wanted to make.  I am always looking for things that would make lovely gifts.  I ended up buying 3 bears. Today I created gift items with 2 of the bears.  These are my creations.

A few weeks back I did a blog post on these great finds I found to create flower arrangements in.  Today I was able to complete a few.   The wheel barrel above with the cute bear holding the apple was one.  I had found this beautiful metal vintage looking basket. I created this floral arrangement using Vintage blush roses and vintage style daisies.  I used Moss to hide the ugly foam.  How do y’all think it turned out?

I also made this pretty arrangement.

Now I just need to find flowers for this birdcage that I found.  I am super excited to do this one.

I absolutely love Milkglass vases.  I have two more that I was able to score at an Antique store my last visit to Texas.  I am waiting on flowers to arrive for them.  This is one I was able to complete a week ago.

I really appreciate you all visiting.  You all make my day!!!.  Have a fabulous weekend.

Until next time.

Christmas Wreaths

This week I was busy on vacation but I found time to squeeze in some pretty Christmas wreaths.  I have to say I was pretty productive.  I absolutely love the rose golds and golds with the pearls of the above Christmas wreath.  It is so unique and beautiful.  Definitely not traditional but beautiful and Christmasy all the same.  What do you think?

I was also able to complete some pretty traditional wreaths. Golds , silvers, reds, and greens.

Unique and pretty Christmas Angel Wreaths.  This is a pretty unique take on the Christmas wreath.

and then I decided to do something more antique and less Christmasy.  I had these lovely milkglass vases and I really wanted to do something pretty.  I ended up creating this piece…

All in all I had a very nice vacation.  A nice visit with my mother.  unfortunately tomorrow I am back to work lol.  I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Until next time!! See you all soon =)

Sugar Plum Festival

Yesterday I went to the Sugar Plum Festival arts and crafts show like I have for probably 17 years.  They have it in many locations throughout the year. I usually make it to at least 3 shows per year.  You can see from the pics it was a packed house.  No elbow room to be had.  Soooo Patience is a must!

The Haunted House at the entrance is absolutely amazing. It’s quite detailed.  It’s windows flash and it plays spooky music.  I should have taken a video but,  I suppose the pic will have to do.  There is a witch that spins around it.  It really is a pretty spectacular sight!

I know a lot of people went there for the Halloween and Fall decor since that is basically what it was about this time of year.   I did not.  I have plenty of decor at the moment.  More than I need LOL.  I went there specifically looking for out of the ordinary things. I must say I was super excited to find so many things I could make floral arrangements in.  Yes you heard me.  I went to a craft fair looking for unique fun pretty POTS. Hidden gems hidden behind all the fall  and Halloween decor.

My finds!

I was super pleased at my finds.  I fell in  love with this and have decided to keep it. I collect perfume bottles so this will fit right in with my collections.  I plan to store boring cotton balls in it =) Isn’t is just beautiful!?

My 2nd favorite find of the day was this  gold vessel.  I fell in love with the shape and the details.  I love that it sets up off the table.  Its going to be a beautiful flower arrangement in the near future.

I cant wait to see what I come up with for the rest of them.  Whatever I do  I will share.  Hopefully they will be stunning and unique!

In the middle of all that I was able to create a few more projects I wanted to shar for Christmas.

and this.
